Decision Support Systems and Data Visualisation is an undergraduate unit, part of my programme at Manchester Metropolitan University. It focuses on the use of data reporting and visualisation in the process of making business decisions.
The assessment for this unit required the production of a data dashboard (using PowerBI), based on a fictional dataset which included data points regarding sales, customers, and loyalty program membership. This required sophisticated layout design (considering Human-Computer Interaction principles) and implementation of advanced features through the use of DAX (Data Analysis Expressions).
Parts of the layout were designed in a way that intutively translated data into a sentence:
Using DAX to extract relevant data, different customer segments were inferred and compared, based on their contribution to sales revenue.
I value transparency, trust, and honesty when showcasing my work. As part of this, and in the interest of both legal and ethical compliance, certain disclosures are made below.
While I may not have been the exclusive creator of the work presented, only artifacts to which I was the primary contributor are showcased. This means other team members may have influenced the artifact's creation (for instance, via suggestion or feedback) but have not directly taken part. I do not claim ownership of artifacts produced by others.
